Empirical Models of Phase Variation for Indoor and Outdoor Mobile Radio Channels
نویسندگان
چکیده
The probability density functions (PDF) of the firstand second-phase variation for multipath envelope in space are derived based on a wideband measured database at 5.3 GHz for indoor and outdoor mobile communications. The first-phase variation follows either a symmetrical or asymmetrical Gaussian distribution, and the second-phase variation follows a symmetrical Gaussian distribution with larger standard deviation (STD) compared to that of the first-phase variation.

An Indoor Positioning System Based on Wi-Fi for Energy Management in Smart Buildings
To offer indoor services to occupants in the context of smart buildings, it is necessary to consider information concerning to the identity and location of the occupants. This paper proposes an indoor positioning system (IPS) based on Wi-Fi fingerprint and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) method. The positioning of a mobile device (MD) using Wi-Fi technology involves online and offline phases. In this...

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...
متن کاملPrediction of outdoor and outdoor-to-indoor coverage in urban areas at 1.8 GHz
A run-time efficient three-dimensional radio propagation prediction model is presented in this paper. The model allows mobile network operators to predict the outdoor and the outdoor-to-indoor coverage in dense urban areas using one general prediction model. It integrates almost all relevant propagation phenomena in dense urban areas with an accuracy comparable to the results of dedicated predi...
متن کاملMIMO Hardware Simulator: Algorithm Design for Heterogeneous Environments
A wireless communication system can be tested either in actual conditions or by a hardware simulator reproducing actual conditions. With a hardware simulator it is possible to freely simulate a desired type of a radio channel and making it possible to test “on table” mobile radio equipment. This paper presents an architecture for the digital block of a hardware simulator of MIMO propagation cha...
متن کاملDiversity Properties of Multiantenna Small Handheld Terminals
Experimental data are presented on the viability of multiple antennas on small mobile handsets, based on extensive measurement campaigns at 2.14GHz with multiple base stations, indoors, from outdoor to indoor, and outdoors. The results show medium to low correlation values between antenna branch signals despite small antenna separations down to 0.16λ. Amplitude distributions are mainly Rayleigh...
